SLAP HAPPY'S studio features a state-of-the-art infrastructure and is home to some of Canada's top producers, directors, writers, designers, storyboard artists, animators and editors.

SLAP HAPPY CARTOONS was founded by top animation professionals KATHY ANTONSEN ROCCHIO, GREG SULLIVAN, JOSH MEPHAM and VITO VISCOMI. After spending many years working on various successful productions, the four principals formed SLAP HAPPY to realize their shared vision and passion for creating original, funny and sometimes twisted cartoons for both kids and adults.


SLAP HAPPY CARTOONS offers their expertise and experience to clients all over the world, which include development and production partners Corus Entertainment, Comedy Central, Canucks Sports and Entertainment, Knowledge Kids Network, Renegade Animation, 9 Story Media Group, Warner Bros. Animation, and Netflix.



KATHY is an award winning creator/producer whose credits include NERDS AND MONSTERS, BEING IAN, YAKKITY YAK, YVON OF THE YUKON and THE LEGEND OF FROSTY THE SNOWMAN. She has produced numerous shows through development and production and has extensive experience creating budgets, working with coproduction partners, distributors, broadcasters (both traditional and streaming content) and CMF funded projects.



JOSH is an award-winning director/creator whose credits include the Pulcinella award-winning WHAT ABOUT MIMI?, RICKY SPROCKET – SHOWBIZ BOY, and the Shaw Rocket Prize winning BEING IAN, for which he was awarded the 2006 Best Director “Leo” and the 2006 Best Director ‘Elan’ Award. Josh has also directed Disney XD’s KID VS KAT and PACKAGES FROM PLANET X and recently finished directing two seasons of the hit series NERDS AND MONSTERS.



GREG is an award-winning director whose credits include NED'S NEWT, the Gemini-nominated YVON OF THE YUKON – for which Greg received two Best Director Leo awards – YAKKITY YAK, the DVD feature THE LEGEND OF FROSTY THE SNOWMAN, and PUCCA, for which he was nominated for awards at Annecy and the Bradford Animation Festival. He also served as a writer and co-director on KID VS. KAT and directed Hasbro's POUND PUPPIES. Most recently he finished writing and directing two seasons of the smash hit series NERDS AND MONSTERS.



VITO is a creator/story editor who has written for many animated series including NERDS AND MONSTERS, THE LEAGUE OF SUPER EVIL, KID VS KAT, and was a writer/story editor for two seasons of the Shaw Rocket Prize-winning BEING IAN. He has written for live-action comedies including THE VACANT LOT, JACKASS, THE HOWARD STERN RADIO SHOW, THE TOM GREEN SHOW, and THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS. Vito received the 2006 Best Writer “Elan” and has three nominations for Best Writing - Canadian Screen Awards.


Head of Digital Production

With over 20 years experience supervising more than 700 episodes, MARK oversees the various production pipelines, quality control, and studio infrastructure at Slap Happy Cartoons. Mark manages all digital technical requests and issues, and has worked on numerous series, including BEING IAN, GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE, MARTHA SPEAKS, and NERDS AND MONSTERS.



EDWIN is an experienced animation and supervising director who has worked on the award-winning NERDS AND MONSTERS, THE TOM AND JERRY SHOW, MY LITTLE PONY, and PACKAGES FROM PLANET X. He began his animation career as a digital painter on the WB Feature Film LOONEY TUNES BACK IN ACTION, and has lectured and taught animation at CAPILANO UNIVERSITY, VANCOUVER FILM SCHOOL, and the VANCOUVER INSTITUTE of MEDIA ARTS.



DANIELLE brings with her many years of accounting experience. She has worked on projects such as DreamWorks' JOSEPH: KING OF DREAMS, YVON OF THE YUKON, D’MYNA LEAGUES, YAKKITY YAK, WHAT ABOUT MIMI? and GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE before joining Slap Happy Cartoons.



As studio Office Manager, ALLISON ensures daily operations run smoothly and arranges special events for the SLAP HAPPY team. A former travel consultant, coordinator, and sales representative, ALLISON spends her free time volunteering for a local woman’s charity and a children’s summer camp. Her incredible baking skills keep the studio staff happy (and pudgy!) and she’s recently perfected a way to make rainbow frosting for cupcakes!
