Our Team

SLAP HAPPY CARTOONS was founded by top animation professionals KATHY ANTONSEN, GREG SULLIVAN, JOSH MEPHAM and VITO VISCOMI. After spending many years working on various successful productions, the four principals formed SLAP HAPPY to realize their shared vision and passion for creating original, funny and sometimes twisted cartoons for both kids and adults. Vito recently stepped back from his duties at Slap Happy Cartoons to pursue his two great passions – artisanal cheese making and taxidermy. Award winning industry veteran ROB DAVIES recently joined the team as a partner.

SLAP HAPPY CARTOONS offers their expertise and experience to clients all over the world, which include development and production partners Corus Entertainment, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, Canucks Sports and Entertainment, Knowledge Kids Network, Renegade Animation, 9 Story Media Group, Warner Bros. Animation, and Netflix.

KATHY ANTONSEN

PARTNER/EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Kathy is an award winning producer / creator whose credits include THE HOLLOW for Netflix and NERDS AND MONSTERS for Corus YTV. Some of her producer credits include BEING IAN, YAKKITY YAK, YVON OF THE YUKON and THE LEGEND OF FROSTY THE SNOWMAN. She has produced numerous shows through development and production and has extensive experience creating budgets, working with coproduction partners, distributors, broadcasters and on CMF funded projects.

ROB DAVIES

PARTNER/EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Rob is an award-winning series director/producer/creator with over 30 years of animation experience, 15 of those as a studio-owner. His directing credits include the Warner Bros. series PINKY AND THE BRAIN, for which he won an Emmy Award, and THE ZETA PROJECT. He is also a BAFTA-nominated creator and producer on the international hit series, ATOMIC BETTY. His most recent credits include storyboard supervision on the award-winning series, MOLLY OF DENALI for PBS, and BOSSY BEAR for Nickleodeon. With creative credits on over 50 international series, Rob brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the Slap Happy Cartoons team.

JOSH MEPHAM

PARTNER/EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

JOSH is an award-winning designer/director/creator whose credits include the Pulcinella award-winning WHAT ABOUT MIMI?, RICKY SPROCKET – SHOWBIZ BOY, and the Shaw Rocket Prize winning BEING IAN, for which he was awarded the 2006 and Best Director “Leo” and the 2006 Best Director ‘Elan’ Award. Josh has also directed Disney XD’s KID VS KAT and PACKAGES FROM PLANET X as well as two seasons of the series NERDS AND MONSTERS. Josh recently finished directing the Netflix Original animated series THE HOLLOW.

GREG SULLIVAN

PARTNER/EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Greg is an award-winning director/writer/creator located in Vancouver B.C. His directing credits include NED’S NEWT, the Gemini nominated YVON OF THE YUKON, for which Greg received two best director Leo Awards, and PUCCA, for which he was nominated for an award at the Annecy Animation Festival. He also served as a writer and co-director on Disney XD’s KID VS. KAT and directed Hasbro’s POUND PUPPIES. Most recently Greg wrote and directed on two seasons of YTV’s NERDS AND MONSTERS, and just completed directing the Netflix Original animated series THE HOLLOW.
